• Question: Do you find blood interesting? Why?

      I do find it interesting. I like the way it mixes philosophy and science. For example:

      In days gone by people thought blood was the “life force”
      Red – the universal colour of danger is the colour of blood
      Magenta (a colour on your printer cartridges) is named after a battle in Italy where French soldiers had the blue in their uniforms mixed with the colour of blood from their battle wounds

      Scientifically it is easy to study because we can get it from people without hurting them (much easier than brain for example!). Also so much is known about it that it is a real challenge to find new things. Finally a lot of diseases have their origins in problems with blood.
