      No – seriously nobody knows for certain how it all works. We know a particular part of the brain called the hippocampus is very important.

      Yes – I am back now. The whole brain is involved in memory but research on long term memory does centre on the “hippocampus” – which means “seahorse” because it is curved like the body of a seahorse.

      This is deep within your brain and you have two of them – one either side. We know these are closely involved in memory but I am afraid that exactly HOW this works is still being worked out!
