This question has been answered by all of us before (check out the previous questions for Emily and Natalie’s answers – our poor departed colleagues).

My answer I was interested when I was young (from age 7 or so when I dissected the fish my mum brought home for tea). But I was also interested in social work and working with kids with learning difficulties. I finally settled on science when I hit 21.

      Hi there

I wanted to be a teacher first – I liked my teachers at primary school and I thought all teachers had to be nice so I thought I would be one of them 😀

I discovered very early that I liked science stuff (I was about 8 when I first realised this) but I also love music and have played music my whole life. So that was an alternative career I suppose.

But as I scientist I get to play a lot of music. I don’t suppose I would get the chance to do much science if I was a musician!
