The overall I had to wear at school was full of holes from acids and alkalis.
It had lots of burn marks on the sleeves too from getting too near to bunsen burners.
I’m very clumsy and science isn’t always very safe!
I did when I was at university because I studied Chemistry and we used acids all the time. Sometimes you splash a tiny drop on your clothes and you don’t notice for about three days – suddenly there is a hole! LOL
I don’t work with acids any more so my clothes last longer 🙂
I haven’t burnt myself with acid but I have burnt my ear with hydrogen peroxide (it was on my gloves and I had an itchy ear) I also got sodium hydroxide in my mouth once (I was chewing a pen that, unbeknown to me, had been resting in a puddle of the stuff). Not something I want to repeat and not something I would recommend doing either!
