      I always get excited at a new bit of science. The discovery is its own reward of course. Actually that’s not quite true as a good discovery leads to other things such as people giving you more money to do more science! So there is an emotional and financial reward!

      It does make me proud of my student. But not as proud as I was when he landed a top science job in another university. See: http://www.exercisebiology.hw.ac.uk/Vollaard.htm

      Seeing your student succeed is almost like one of your kids growing up happy!
