It was an opportunity too good to miss!

I take the whole business of getting out of the lab and talking to everyone about science very seriously. Have a look at my profile under “what would you do with the money”

It is not about what I do particularly – although I hope you find what I do fascinating. Almost everything is about science a bit – but many people think that science is something different or special. It isn’t. It is just part of the world in which we live and scientists need to engage with people – particularly young people – to get this message across 🙂

I just thought it would be interesting to listen to kids for a change. I have talked to university students and adults about my science, but rarely visited schools. This seemed a good way to visit a lot of schools at the same time.

No high motives about the state of science in schools or needing to help you. Just a genuine interest in what you think. Pretty much the same curiosity that drives my science.
