      Lots of questions. You can find more detailed answers elsewhere on the site. So I will give you some short snappy ones here:

      Science – The TV program “How”. A 1970’s popular science program. If I was your age “Mythbusters” would do it for me. I also liked science fiction. And I dissected (dead) fish that my mum brought home to eat to see what they were made up of.

      Blood: The red protein in blood (haemoglobin) was similar to others I was working on at the time; there was more money to study blood as there were potential health benefits so I switched. Science is expensive and a lot of what we do is driven by what the government or charities want to pay for.
